NetComm NB1300 USB ADSL Modem - Bridge Installation for Windows 98
Insert the NetComm NB1300 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
Setup the NB1300 hardware:
Insert one end of the AC adapter into the NB1300 socket that
reads “POWER”
and the other end to the power outlet.
Insert one end of the phone cable into the NB1300 socket that
reads “LINE” and the other end to the phone jack in the wall.
Insert one end of the USB cable into the NB1300 socket that
reads “USB” and the other end to an available USB port on your
computer.
Press the ON/OFF switch at the rear to turn the NB1300 on.
The New Hardware Wizard has found the USB NET CARD.
Click the “Next>” button.
Tick “Specify a location” and type in there “d:\usb driver\”
where d: is the drive of your CD-ROM.
Click the “Next>” button.
Windows is now ready to install the best driver for this device.
Click the “Next>” button.
Windows has finished installing the software for the NetComm
USB Network Interface.
Click the “Finish” button.
You may be prompted with a series of files that Windows98 requires
in order to finish the installation. When prompted with a similar
screen like above, type in the location of your Windows 98 CD
or the path of your windows folder (c:\windows) or systems folder
(c:\windows\system) to locate the file.
Click the “OK” button.
Configuring the TCP/IP Settings
Once the driver is installed, it is configurable as a regular
Ethernet adapter.
Right mouse click the “Network Neighborhood” icon and select
“Properties”.
Select “TCP/IP -> NetComm NB1300 USB Network Adapter”.
Click the “Properties” button.
Select “Specify an IP address”.
Enter in your IP Address and Subnet Mask.
Click the “Gateway” tab.
Enter in your New gateway address and click the “Add” button.
Click the “DNS Configuration” tab.
Select “Enable DNS”.
In the Host field, type Connexus.
Under DNS Server Search Order, enter 203.12.22.10 and click
the “Add” button.
Under DNS Server Search Order, enter 203.12.22.20 and click
the “Add” button.
Click the “OK” button. (This will return you to the Network
window)
Click the “OK” button once more.

Click the “OK” button.
You must restart your computer.
Click the “YES” button.
Set your Internet Options to “Never dial a connection”
Open up Internet Explorer.
Click on the “Tools” link at the top.
From the Tools drop down menu, click on “Internet Options”.
(This will open up the Internet Options window.)
Click on the “Connections” tab.
If not greyed out, select “Never dial a connection”.
Click the “Apply” button then the “OK” button.
