We caught Carol at a pitch event during our visit to Gawler.

How did you start?

I was visiting my mother’s home when I discovered a trunk full of beautiful leather and hides. I started by making macramé wall hangings, dream-catchers and upcycling old furniture pieces as a hobby. I was then given a design, a hide and a sewing machine by a business client and I created my first leather bag. Since then, my love for leather craft has continued to grow.

Why did you want to become a small business owner?

I have always been a small business owner at heart. I previously owned and managed a salon before my husband and I decided to start a family. We wanted to raise our two boys in the Barossa Valley around a loving and supportive community. After discovering my love for leather, my business was born here as well.

What do you love about your work?

I love that I get to work on my passion and to be able to fulfill my desire to create luxurious leather goods. Just being able to sew and craft leather everyday makes me extremely happy.
